Q
- When will I receive my order ?
If you have recently placed an order for RaceXpert
or a download, our Technical department will contact
you with the necessary details as soon as possible.
Please note however that this may not be until tomorrow
if you have placed your order outside our normal
office hours. Orders received after 4.00pm on a
Friday, may not be processed until Monday morning.
Q - My PRO features don't work anymore ?
After purchasing PRO Membership to
add to your package, or after a new download and
installation, you will need to run Auto-Update to
activate your PRO Membership. All the additional
program features should then become available to
you. Running Auto-Update will also restore your
PRO Membership, should it ever cease to function
during a valid subscription period
Q - Are the selections produced
in RaceXpert recommendations from RaceXpert?
Absolutely NOT. Please read carefully
the terms that you accept every time that you run
RaceXpert and also note that your strategy should
always be 'long term' and not 'get rich quickly'.
Q - Can you provide past racecards
for me to carry out research on?
We can supply racecards going
back to December 2002 on CD - please contact us
for details.
Q - If I have a problem running RaceXpert, should
I re-install the software again?
You should NEVER do this without contacting
us first as it may cause an 'unlock' problem for
you (you may be locked out from RaceXpert for the
rest of the month).
Q - If I have a question I would like answered,
can I post that to the RaceXpert forum?
You can certainly do that, but
if you require an answer from RaceXpert Technical
Department, you should contact them directly.
Q - What's the first thing I should do if I
have a query or problem?
(in order) Read the appropriate Help file topic
(or the email message again if connected with a
file we have sent out). Read this page (FAQ's).
Contact RaceXpert Technical Department.
Q - How will I know when my subscription
runs out?
Your current subscription status can be seen displayed
at the top of your software, on the opening screen.
Q - Can I open any of the RaceXpert
files in another application?
You should NEVER do this as your files may become
corrupted and there would be a charge to get you
back up and running again. The ONLY files you should
attempt to open are the files which RaceXpert allows
you to export from the program (stored in your 'Reports'
folder).
Q - I'm new to horseracing
- can you offer any suggestions?
Read as many books on racing as you can. Our
more knowledgeable members will gladly let you know
the books that they consider to be essential reading
material.
Q - I need to reformat
my hard drive - will that cause a problem?
Contact us BEFORE you do that
and we'll guide you through what you need to do
regarding your RaceXpert files.
Q - I'm buying a
new computer - how can I get RaceXpert on to my
new machine?
Contact us first before doing anything - (if
we are unaware of what you are doing, we will not
provide assistance if things go wrong and you could
get locked out for the remainder of the month so
it's best not to meddle) - we will then explain
the correct procedure to follow.
Q - Can I
safely delete old Racecards?
Yes, if you wish, as they have no part to play
in the RaceXpert database.
Q - Sometimes
when a new screen opens it is not fully displayed/visible.
What can I do?
If a screen is not correctly displayed on your
monitor, simply click on the 'RaceXpert' button
on your Windows TaskBar (bottom of screen) and the
screen will refresh.
Q - What
are the 'Secret Weapon' selections?
These are horses who are trained by the highest
rated Course Trainer if the trainer is also 'Hot'
and rated >=50.
Q - What
are the 'Watch The Market' selections?
These are horses who have won or placed within
the last 4 days.
Q - Why on some Sundays are no result update files
sent out?
This only happens when we have Saturday evening
races and the full results are not available. The
results update file will then be sent out on a Monday.
Q - What time should I expect
to be able to download my racecards and updates?
The Racecards should be on the web site before
6.30pm the day before racing and the Update files
before 1.00pm the day after racing. Please do not
send emails before the times quoted above stating
the files are not yet available - this will just
delay things further if we've got hundreds of emails
to wade through. |
Q - What are 'Double-Hot'
selections as highlighted by 'Ask The Man'?
These are horses where the Jockey and
Trainer are currently in-form (Hot).
Q
- Sometimes I have a 'system qualifier'
yet it doesn't appear on the Research screen
when I have updated the results, The opposite
is also true - no qualifier on the day,
but one appears on the Research screen after
updating the results. Why is this?
This could be for a number of reasons,
depending upon how the systems are designed.
The most likely reasons are a change in
the going or non-runners affecting the qualifiers.
We would always advise that you change the
going on the racecards and remove non-runners
(where appropriate) then run your system
check again on the actual day. If a qualifier
doesn't appear on the Research screen after
updating the results, then load your system
on the Research screen and the appropriate
racecard (Racecards screen) to cross-check
each of the settings in your system - you
will find that the horse didn't qualify.
Q - How can I open a file
I have exported from RaceXpert into a spreadsheet?
For detailed information about opening
'comma-delimited files', you should read
the help file that comes with your spreadsheet
software, but here is a quick run down:
1) Load your spreadsheet.
2) Open the file (you will normally be advised
of the file name on-screen when you saved
it and it will be saved to your RaceXpert\Reports
folder). By default only XLS files may be
displayed for opening so you should select
"All Files" via the drop-down box.
3) Select the 'Delimited' option.
4) Next.
5) Select the 'Comma' option.
6) Next.
7) Click on the 'SP' column to highlight
it (or any column of data that could potentially
be converted to a date that you don't want
converting to a date), then select the 'Text'
option.
8) Finish.
Your data should now displayed in your spreadsheet
ready for formatting, sorting, etc.
Q - When I read the Help
file, I notice mention of features that
I don't have access to. Why is this?
You have not signed up for PRO Membership.
Q - I have seen mention on the email
group of 'Yellow Bankers', 'Parkers' and
'Yellow Parkers' - what are these names
referring to?
These are selection methods that have
been named and designed by the members of
the email group using the Master Formspeed
feature in RaceXpert.

Handicaps only
3yo and above
Class D above

the current race
YELLOW PARKER
As above and also highlighted in yellow
Q - I am getting an 'Error
3204' message. Why is this and what can
I do to sort it out?
RaceXpert was not closed down correctly
and/or you suffered a small Windows 'crash'
(the RaceXpert database is still open).
You may get back up and running if you delete
any files starting with the letters "RX"
(but NOT RX.mdb or rxdl.dll) in your main
RaceXpert folder and hope that the problem
didn't occur during an update process. Then
reboot your computer. If you still have
a problem after following the above you'll
need to get back to us (a previously made
backup of RaceXpert will be useful now -
let us know if you have one). You should,
on a regular basis, make a backup of all
your RaceXpert folders and files - Windows
can be unstable at the best of times!
Q - I am getting an 'Error
3426' message. Why is this and what can
I do to sort it out?
It is vital to update your database
correctly that you ensure your new computer
is correctly set to "English (United Kingdom)".
Most computers will already be correctly
set up, but you should check BEFORE you
run your first update.
1) Go to your START Button, Control Panel
and run "Regional and Language
Options" (may be called something similar,
depending upon your version of
Windows).
2) On the 'Regional Options' tab, select
"English (United Kingdom)".
3) Ensure that the "Short Date" is set to
the date format 19/03/2003.
4) Ensure that the "Long Date" is set to
the date format 19 March 2003.
5) Ensure that the currency is set to £123,456,789.00.
Q - I have an error
message starting with the letters "ERROR
SWPR" - what do I need to do?
You need to send the exact error message
to us along with your SERIAL NUMBER and
UNLOCK CODE. Failure to send all of this
information will result in your problem
remaining unresolved.
Q - How do I register,
log on and use the RaceXpert forum?
First click on the register button and fill
in the relevant details. Our system will
then dispatch a confirmation e-mail to confirm
your address is correct. After you have
confirmed your address to be real you then
need to log on to the forum using the username
and password set by YOU when you registered
yourself there.
Q - Where can I find the password
for the Members Only Area of the RaceXpert
forum?
This is only available to full
subscribers and you will find it located
in the top bar of your software ( in the
top left hand corner, below
the Version Number and above the top row
of icons ) at all times. Please make sure
that you regularly run Auto-Update so that
you have the most current password.
Q - Where can I find my serial number
I can't remember it?
You will find it located in the top bar
of your software ( below the Version Number
and above the top row of icons ). |
